What Is Precision Casting?
Precision casting, also known as investment casting or lost wax casting, is a reliable manufacturing process for complex metal parts that require accurate dimensions, smooth surfaces, and consistent mechanical performance. It is widely used for
pump housings,
multi-port valve bodies, machinery components, and custom industrial assemblies. A wax pattern is produced to the required geometry, assembled, and coated with ceramic material to form a strong shell. After the wax is removed, molten alloy is poured into the cavity and carefully controlled during solidification. The ceramic shell is then removed, and the casting is cleaned, inspected, machined, and finished according to the drawing. This process supports stainless steel, carbon steel, and other engineered alloys while reproducing fine details and reducing parting lines. With controlled tooling, material selection, dimensional inspection, and secondary machining, precision casting provides repeatable quality for prototypes and production orders.
